MYSTERY OF PUDU JAIL

Pudu Prison, or better known as Pudu Jail, was built on the site of a former Chinese burial ground. Pudu was by then a dense jungle area, with tigers occasionally roaming around. Construction began in 1891, using convicts as workforce. It took about four years and was finally complete in 1895

Now evidently this place is said to be one of the most hardcore places in Malaysia. This is the place where humans were sentenced to death and vicious criminals were kept tucked safely away from the public. According to records, Block D which was built 117 years ago, was the building where they held convicts that were to be sentenced to death. Between 1933 to 1960 up to 180 convicts were sentenced to death by hanging.

INSIDE PUDU JAIL

There are rumours that Pudu Prison is haunted. There have been reports of a strange Indian man walking the halls of the prison and disappearing around the corner. Screams have been heard from rooms where hangings have taken place, and there are certain areas of the prison that are far colder than others.

Built to hold just 600 men, by the 1980s, it was stuffed with more than 5000 prisoners. “Pudu Jail was a time bomb,” says Nor Shahid, a former Pudu prison officer.

  7. Oh, sorry about the noise. My gang used to sneak in there and enjoyed binge drinking parties. We thought the cans and bottles we left behind would've given people a clue. We didn't mean to scare anybody. Anyway we saw a lot of ghosts while we were partying. We thought they were the side effects of our drugs. So you're telling me these were real ghosts? DAMN! We would've shat our pants! Instead we laughed at the "ghosts", thinking they were hallucinations! Whoa. I don't feel so well now, thinking about it..... I better lay down. Wait till I tell my gang though. That will be some story!
